I had set my heart on living in South Glassgreen

A change in circumstances led Katrina and her son to look for a new home in Elgin, and thanks to the support of Springfield, they were able to find a home they loved.

As soon as I started looking for a new home for my son and I, I instantly decided on a new build property as I liked the security of the price and knowing I wouldn’t have to bargain or increase my budget. We were going for lots of walks around Elgin, not too far from my old home, and I saw the properties at South Glassgreen. The whole area looked so welcoming, and I loved the look of the houses. I had set my heart on living in South Glassgreen.

The development itself is wonderful. I like that all the houses look different. They all look so clean-cut and fresh, and it’s so nice to not live on a street that’s full of exactly the same houses.

The show home was lovely, and even though it was a different style to the house I bought, it gave me the chance to see the finishings and fittings that would be in my house.

I chose the Ardmore, a three-bedroom semi-detached house with an open-plan kitchen and dining area. I ended up upgrading from the gas hob in the kitchen to an induction hob. The kitchen is my favourite room in the house – I love the style of it and the units I chose too. It looks out onto the garden, so when the sun’s shining, it’s so bright and airy.

This was the first house I’ve ever bought on my own, and everyone was so helpful. Karen Stewart at Springfield was fantastic - I met her when I made an appointment to look at the show home, and I had made up my mind that I wanted to live in South Glassgreen. She explained the development, the different houses, what was included in the whole process and kept in contact with me on a regular basis.

That was fantastic because it made my life a bit easier, and I wasn’t stressed or worried about everything. Everything went so smoothly, and Karen helped to make the situation as easy as possible for me. I was able to choose everything I wanted online which was ideal too.

It’s such a contrast from where I used to live. Not everyone has moved into their houses yet, but everyone seems really nice. I actually ended up knowing the people who moved in across the road, what a lucky coincidence! You just feel so safe when you come into the development –  it’s so peaceful and welcoming.
