The whole process has been a pleasure

We knew we wanted to retire somewhere on the coast but weren’t sure exactly where. When we came to Meadow Lea we knew straight away this is where we would like to live.

We are both retired now and as our children are grown up we were looking to downsize. We knew we wanted to retire somewhere on the coast but weren’t sure exactly where. We looked at a few Springfield developments including Duncansfield in Elgin and Letterfourie in Buckie but when we came to Meadow Lea we knew straight away this is where we would like to live. The development is in a really good location. It is close to the town centre but feels peaceful too. Nairn Dunbar golf club is only five minutes along the road and there is a path straight to the beach from the development. The walk around the beach is lovely. We try to do the loop every day.

We were worried about moving and downsizing as we had lived in our previous home for 20 years. When we spoke to Stef, the Sales Executive for the development, she put our mind at ease. She answered all our questions, she was patient and kept in touch with us from the moment we reserved. Gary, the Site Manager, was also great and he still speaks to us when we see him around the development.

While we were waiting on our home being built we rented a lovely 2 bedroom apartment from Springfield in Forres. It was nice to be close by as we were able to come down every so often and see the progress of our home.

We decided to go with open plan and added sunroom as although we were downsizing we still wanted the spacious feel. It was a great decision. Although we love all of our home, the sunroom has got to be our favourite part. 

Springfield are special in that they give you the opportunity to customise your home – paint colours in every room, wide kitchen and bathroom choices and even the layout of your home. We decided to go with open plan and added sunroom as although we were downsizing we still wanted the spacious feel. It was a great decision. Although we love all of our home, the sunroom has got to be our favourite part. We upgraded some of our choices which cost us a little extra which we didn’t mind. 

We have had a couple of snagging issues and our en-suite shower had a leak but the aftercare team were fantastic. They went above and beyond to ensure repairs were done on time and to a very high standard.

We have and will continue to recommend Springfield to everyone we know. The whole process has been a pleasure.
